Welcome to the Minnesota Professional Law Enforcement Assistants Association — PLEAA!! For 2015, we move forward at our law enforcement agencies having seen many staffing changes with retirement of many long-term employees. While a lot of history and experience is leaving, a lot of new and energetic individuals are coming into agencies with a lot of new ideas and energy. Law Enforcement is also facing numerous challenges with the public. It is the goal of PLEAA to bring all these different people together in a learning and mentoring environment to help share knowledge and ideas and chart your forward course for your professional careers and your law enforcement agencies. In connection with these goals, we are working on providing great opportunities for training and networking as we move forward into this year.
Welcome to the Professional Law Enforcement Assistants Association website! For 2014, we start the year with a brand new Board of Directors. We are very proud to be celebrating our 15th year serving the law enforcement assistants community in Minnesota. Please take a minute to check out the various sections of the website and view upcoming training opportunities.

And Speaking of Board Members, the PLEAA Board lost two of its members in 2012, due to retirement, Linda Anderson-Hill, our Vice-President, and Shirley Hawks, our Secretary. Both were founding members of our organization and are sincerely missed. We are also hoping to include retirees in our events starting this year. So, hopefully you will see more of them in the future. We are also in the process of getting some new members for the Board.
The year 2013 promises to be a great one for PLEAA members. We start with our two-day out of town conference in the spring. This year’s conference will be May 1st through the 3rd at Cragun’s Resort in the Brainerd Lakes area. Conference information is posted on the Training Page! Be sure to register both with PLEAA and with Cragun’s for this event. NOTE: Cragun’s is holding rooms ONLY until March 23rd, so try and get your room reserved by that date.

The year 2011 promises to bring more great training to our members, starting with our two-day conference at Cragun’s Resort in the Brainerd Lakes Area. The dates of the conference are April 28 & 29, 2011 and more information will be available on that soon. Keep checking the training tab!
What’s New at PLEAA? The training topics and instructors are in place for the November 2010 training. It will be held at the City of Medina’s Hamel Community Building, just off Hwy 55. Go to the training tab for the most current information and the registration form.
ALSO, in this difficult economic time, we realize that several agencies have had to cut training dollars and that sometimes our training is among the first to go. If your agency doesn’t have funds to send you, check out the new Scholarship program available through PLEAA.
